Highlights
A plant relocation of this scale requires much more than dismantling and reinstalling individual machines. Every existing component had to be technically evaluated, planned into the new layout and coordinated with the new plant sections.
The combination of existing technology and new machinery placed high demands on project planning, engineering and site coordination. Cleaning technology, conveying systems, silos, seed treating, packaging, aspiration and controls had to be designed so that old and new components would again form one logically functioning complete plant.
The adaptation to the new location was particularly demanding. Existing machine dimensions, new hall geometry, separate building sections and modified product routes all had to be brought together. The new conveyor bridge was an important element in ensuring reliable material flow between processing and packaging.
The control system also had to be further developed. New components were integrated into the existing control structure, operator interfaces and plant visualizations were adapted, and the complete plant was aligned with the new process sequences.
The project shows that existing plants do not necessarily have to be replaced if they can still be reused in a technically meaningful way. Through careful planning, targeted modernization and the addition of modern key machines, a high-performance seed processing plant was created that makes use of existing investments while preparing the system for today’s requirements.
The result is a relocated and modernized plant designed to meet demanding requirements today and in the future.
