Maize Sheller type MR 20

Maize Sheller

Maize shellers are used to separate kernels from the cob. They are mainly applied in seed corn processing plants, where husked and dried corn cobs are prepared for further cleaning and sorting.

Gentle shelling of seed corn

The Cimbria maize shellers are designed for gentle handling of sensitive seed corn. The objective is reliable kernel separation with low mechanical stress and preservation of seed quality.

The shelling process is based on friction between the cobs and against smooth round ribs inside the machine. An adjustable, spring-loaded outlet flap controls the back pressure and supports uniform, complete and gentle shelling.

191 Series - Combination with integrated screen cleaner

If required, the MR20 maize sheller can be combined with an integrated screen cleaner below the sheller.

The screen cleaner separates cob pieces, oversize material and fines directly after shelling. This reduces the load on downstream cleaning machines and prepares the product flow for further processing.

Benefits of the combination:

  • compact sheller and screening unit
  • direct separation of cob pieces and oversize material
  • pre-cleaning immediately after shelling
  • reduced load on downstream cleaning equipment
  • easy integration into seed corn lines
  • coordinated material flow from shelling to screening and conveying
